Gifts for Managers [2020 edition]

I’ve compiled a list of gifts that would be appropriate gifts for managers, colleagues, and project teams this year.
There are also some extra-special options (e.g. These presents are too expensive to be used as Secret Santa office ideas. You could also buy gifts for managers or employees to gift them – not the boring ones!
My experience with gifting to colleagues has been mixed. One year, I participated in the office Secret Santa. I didn’t succeed. I knew the person I was drawn for professionally, but I didn’t know enough to know what their preferences were.
They weren’t British citizens so I bought them a mug with “I Love London” written on it. To make up the remainder of the money, I bought some wool and crocheted the scarf.
The scarf was fun to make. It turned out beautifully and was a thoughtful gift that I put a lot effort into. I think they were disappointed. I think they were disappointed, because they opened the package and said, “I don’t wear scarves.”
Everyone else got and gave funny novelty gifts. I was wrong about Secret Santa’s tone. Since then, I don’t believe I’ve ever taken part in Secret Santa. It’s too stressful to buy gifts for managers or project colleagues. If an ex-colleague is reading this, they will know that it was me.
Okay, let’s move on to the presents!
Practical gifts for managers
You’re on mute, mug
This is a great option for those who work remotely! Etsy shopping is great because you support local businesses and they ship all over the country so you don’t have to worry about not seeing your boss.

These would make great stocking stuffers or Secret Santa gifts.
It’s perfect to make sure that your clicker for presentations is always topped-up or for any of my children’s toys that I seem to have in my handbag.
Planners and diaries
What’s not to love about a new notebook, or a beautiful planner for next year?
One of the London stations that I used to frequent was Paperchase. It’s a treasure trove full of stocking stuffers and stationery to covert.

This notebook can be personalized with your own text on the spine or the front cover. Maybe “Best Manager Ever” is a bit too extreme, but I’m sure that you can come up with something! Their name would be classy, I think.
You can choose from a variety of colours and have it lined or unlined. I love a notebook that offers many options.
Fun gifts for your team
Mug with Colour Chart
Before lockdown, my lovely colleagues offered to make me tea. Perhaps it’s because I’ve moved desks, and the closest one to the kitchen is now my workspace so they have to pass me while they make their own drinks.
Most of the time, I say no. I prefer to make my own tea so it is perfect. Maybe I could help my colleagues make their teas just right if I had one of these.
